¿En qué flashcarts funcionará el navegador?
Aún no he tocado el asunto de las bibliotecas FAT, así que lo que hay hecho hasta ahora debería funcionar en todos. Planeo usar el DLDI de Chishm, así que la compatibilidad estará sujeta al soporte de éste tenga.
¿Por qué ignoras los comentarios que dejan los lectores en el blog?
No los ignoro. Sólo es que no tengo tiempo para contestar uno por uno. Es por eso que hago este pequeño FAQ contestando a las preguntas que dejáis en los comentarios y a otras inquietudes que se plantean en algunos foros.
¿Por qué tardas tanto en hacer un teclado, si las PALib te facilitarían la labor?
Porque no estoy usando las PALib. Programo mediante libnds. El teclado es creado dinámicamente y se sirve del módulo de GUI (Graphical User Interface, Interfaz Gráfica de Usuario).
Al menos te estará quedando bonito.

¿Cuándo estará lista la demo?
Más que una demo, será una versión alfa (en fase de desarrollo). Tenía sentido llamarla así porque va a ser una demostración de lo que hay hecho hasta ahora, lo que no implica que el software esté tan avanzado como para considerarlo una beta.
Y, en respuesta a la pregunta, espero tenerla hecha en unas dos semanas. Tened presente que a partir de ese punto queda menos trabajo por hacer del que se ha hecho hasta ahora. Tengo tantas ganas como vosotros de terminar el Okiwi.
¿Qué incluirá la demo?
Detallando un poco más lo que dije en la entrada anterior, será algo así como una versión del navegador que no se conecta a la red. Por tanto, visualizará un documento que permitirá demostrar algunas características del motor de representación para hacerse una idea.

Tengo que seguir un orden, y he decidido incorporar las funcionalidades de red cuando el resto de módulos lleguen a un estado medianamente maduro.
¿Cómo se va a distribuir el software? (O, de momento, la demo.)
Sigue siendo válida la respuesta que di en el primer FAQ: cuando haya ficheros para descargar, en esta web aparecerán los enlaces correspondientes.

Which flashcarts will the browser work with?
I've not handled FAT libraries subject yet, so what I've done till now should work with all of them. I plan to use Chishm's DLDI, so compatibility will be determined by its support of the different devices.
Why do you ignore comments that users leave in the blog?
I don't ignore them. The only thing is that I haven't enough time to answer one by one. That's the reason whay I make this little FAQ answering the questions you leave in the comments and some other inquietudes you pose in some forums.
Why do you take so long to make a keyboard, when PALib would make the workload lighter?
Because I'm not using PALib. I code by means of libnds. The keyboard is dinamically built using the GUI (Graphical User Interface) module.
At least you should be getting a nice result.
It's current appearance, not definitive, is this:
Soon I will talk about the keyboard more in deep.
When will the demo be ready?
More than a demo, it will be an alpha version (in development stage). I had sense to name it like that since it's going to be a demonstration of what's done till now, which doesn't mean that the software is so advanced to consider it a beta.
And, answering the question, I expect to finish it in two weeks or so. Realize that from that point there is less work to do than it's done yet. I also feel like Okiwi is finished.
What will the demo include?
Saying with more detail what I said in last post, it will be something like a browser test version which doesn't connect to the netwok. Therefore, I will display a document that will allow to demonstrate some rendering engine features, to get an idea.
Doesn't it connect to the network?!
I must follow some order, and I've decided to include network functionality when the rest of the modules reach a quite mature status.
How is going the software to be distributed? (Or, by now, the demo.)
The answer I gave in the first FAQ is still valid: as soon as there are files to download, links to them will appear at this web.

Yes, I do. Okiwi is a personal project, and many nds users will surely use it once is finished (or at least, working online), and as long as you are not paying for it, you could, at least, be patient instead of getting angry because there is no fully operative online browsing....

It's simple. If you aren't funding this project you have absolutely no right to talk crap about it.
I've even seen people brag on other sites about how they are talking crap in order to try to manipulate the creators of this browser to work faster. That is just DESPICABLE.

The keyboard looks nice and functional. Too bad the alpha version won't be able to go online, but I can live with that for a little longer =3.
Again good luck on the project and to those who find it necessary to spam the comments on this post: Go get each others email adresses and argue about it on msn or such. It might help speeding up the project, since Pedro won't have to read all the junk that is posted^^

agree.. someone try the warcraft td homebrew game? the homebrewer start his website the 1 january and he's at his 3rd version now.. you can add yours maps and we will be able to play multiplayer soon

I think the keyboard is great by the way ..we dont have to press shift every time to type a symbol, thats a really really good idea ;-)
and it looks easy to target with a stylus, thit is crucial for a nds browser

so, does anyone think that in the future okiwi will impliment something like DSFLASH to run flash prorams and files?
i think it would really be cool... but hard to make, especially for the double screens and a touch screen.
he might also be able to impliment some sort of mp3 player for other types of soud.
anyone else think of any good ideas to impliment into it? (crazy as they may be)
like a some way to play video... even though that would probably eat up the ram way too much.
i dont know... maybe it could be done!! who knows!!
i think it would really be cool too ;-) agree with the "hard to make" :-) if one day we have a browser with flash and download capabilities i think i will not use my computer anymore ;-) Maybe it will be possible to emule ram (like dslinux) and stream flash videos on a ds :-D :-D

Yo tengo el DS Linker, para mi que no será compatible, una lástima pero bueno espero que alguien haga alguna adaptación.
Well, i figure that downloads must be possible, because ds organize has them, where you can download homebrew from the homebrew network directly to your flash cart... which is pretty cool, so downloads must be possible, and im sure in the future, it will be done.
you are right dsorganize have download capabilities and natrium show us a proof than flash can run...

, we will probably able to do a media server like "Wiidia" or "wiiCR" to access media on our computers from a webpage..

Soy muy paciente con este proyecto , pero por otra parte ,mi opinion personal es que lo que ha anunciado que iba a sacar (demostracion de como carga una pagina local,sin necesidad de conexion a internet,sin necesidad de teclado,etc) con lo que se "supone" que tiene hecho (el motor) , no deberia ser algo complicado de lanzar, asi que tampoco entiendo mucho el retraso.
Seguiremos esperando cualquier noticia.

Tio, no te agobies. Yo también soy "programador" y comprendo lo pesado que se hace un proyecto y que te agobien con "para cuando estará", "te falta mucho" ... y demas cosas.
Es un trabajo que haces por amor al arte, así que si necesitas un mes y no dos semanas pues dices dos meses y ya está ;)

Parece que calculé mal el plazo. No es lo que mejor se me da, y menos en un proyecto así.
De todas formas, me estoy afanando y no creo que tarde mucho más en publicar la demo/alpha. No os preocupéis, que el Okiwi completo aparecerá antes de que termine el ciclo de vida de la DS ;-)

It seems I didn't estimate the deadline accurately. That's not the thing I'm best at, specially in such a project.
Anyway, I'm doing my best and I don't think I will take much more time to release the demo/alpha. Don't worry, since the complete Okiwi will be released before DS life cycle expires ;-)

Don't worry, just keep working like before. You're in the worst development phase, so next time don't put a deadline because you only will get anxious. Get lucky with the pre-alpha!

Pedro, you need to post some kind of progress, and actual proof that this is real... I can see why people are beginning to believe this is fake. they have good reason to. the demo was supposed to be released about 3 weeks ago. thats a long time.. I mean, even in your post, you said "I think that Okiwi is quite finished," so if it is quite finished, what has delayed you so much? you havent given us a reason why it was delayed (at least a non-vage reason). You didn't even give us an estamated time it would be ready again.. all you said is that it shouldnt take much more time, and "it will be ready before the DS life cycle is over."

ya penso que eso es un fake porque si no fuera un fake habrias al menos posteado para decir el porque de tardar tanto... sinto pero te digo... en okiwi, hta que se lanze algo, dejo de creer... Gnirfleo me parece bien más digno, porque nos mantiene informados de todo que va ocurrindo, mañana posteara un imagen del browser, y todos esperamos creendo que va salir algo dia 24, lo que, por lo que veo, será antes que okiwi enseñe algo... me gustaria que me callaras lanzando algo pronto, pero del modo k va penso k es imposible... salus
